This article is about a/an Makai Knight in Garo: Honoo no Kokuin

Germán Luis is a fictional character in the series Garo: Honoo no Kokuin, the Makai Knight Zoro and the father of Leon Luis and Roberto.

Character History

GHNK 22

German in happier times with his young son.

Personality

Germán is a cocky, suave and laid back individual who womanizes and drinks and is somewhat irresponsible in caring for his son Leon, but does genuinely love him despite the facade of a deadbeat dad. He is so loving towards his son that he tolerates the abuse given to him by Leon's bitterness at his supposed disrespect towards his late wife's memory, despite his annoyance of it.

His logic behind his sexual escapades with other women is that he needs a male heir to his armor now that Leon has the Garo Armor as well as gathering bits of intelligence on the goings on in different towns, as other men of different towns often spill information to prostitutes in their drunken state.

While he appears to be a fool, Germán is actually very bold and perceptive and can become serious when there is work needed to be done. It may be that his womanizing, drinking and allowing the physical abuse from his son are ways to drown out the pain of losing Anna and the guilt of his failure to save her, possibly hiding from his grief.

Zoro: The Shadow Cutting Knight

The Zoro armor is designed for ranged and close combat through the use of swords attached to chains on wrist mounted spindles that can be propelled or retracted.

Arsenal

  • Zoro Daggers: Germán carries two large knives which he conceals in his coat that transform into twin long daggers upon the activation of his Zoro armor. In their transformed state, the Zoro Daggers have long curved blades and carry chains with a "Z" decorative emblem on the hilts of the blades. The Zoro Daggers can be used to grapple enemies by launching from the chains mounted on his wrists or combine into a bladed boomerang which can be thrown.
  • Madou Lamp: The 17th century equivalent of a Madou Lighter, Germán uses it to open Orders Documents. Unlike a Madou Lighter, it is a large bottle with a wick and magic lighter fluid that shoots Madou Fire when the lid is opened.
  • Madou Bell: The standard Horror Detector used in the 17th century, the Madou Bell rings a special magical sound that reveals who is possessed by a Horror.
